I don’t plan on getting married anytime soon, but that doesn’t stop me from thinking about the fun things that come with the marriage process. Not only do you get to have a big party with all your friends and family, but you also get to escape to an exotic location and not worry about talking to anyone except your lover.
Since I’ve been traveling non-stop over the past 2 years and recording all my actions and re-actions on this site, I dream about the day when I can vacation without telling anyone what happened.
This summer I have to return to the States for 5 weddings, I had 7 weddings last summer and 6 the summer before that. It seems like every last one of my friends is tying the knot and will get to have the honeymoon experience before me, which is great because that means I can pick the best location for mine!
I must say however, I’ve been a bit bored with their destination selections so I decided to create my own list. A list of honeymoon hot spots that I’d love to experience. Who knows, maybe I’ll just runaway with a little Latina I meet down here in South America and skip the whole wedding process!
4 Honeymoon Hot Spots I’d Enjoy
LOS CABOS, MEXICO
Mexico is on the top of my travel list with or without a honeymoon. I’m constantly reading from other travel bloggers about the pristine beaches and beautiful pueblos that cover this amazing country. The big pro about going to Mexico for a honeymoon would be that I could show off my Spanish skills, but the only con is that she would find out about my mole negro addiction. If Mexico ends up being the country of choice I’d want to experience Los Cabos and I think the best way to do it would be with timeshare rentals. Mexico seems to be the timeshare capital, which gives you the opportunity to shop around for a great deal, while having the luxury of feeling at home. A friend and his wife are actually going to stay at Fiesta Americana Villas Los Cabos in Mexico on their honeymoon so I’m excited to hear their feedback this summer.
AMALFI COAST, ITALY
Nothing says romance like Italy. It’s home to some of the best food, beaches and architecture in the world. It screams sex and there is nothing sexier than the Amalfi Coast. Located on the southern coast of the Sorrentine Peninsula, the Amalfi Coast is a stretch of coastline that boasts classic Mediterranean climate and in 1997, the Amalfi Coast was lasted as a UNESCO World Heritage Site as a cultural landscape. First destination of choice, the city of Positano… wow!
FIJI
When I think of a luxury honeymoon, Fiji is one of the first destinations that come to mind. The incredibly clear water, white sandy beaches and first class Fiji accommodation makes this one of my top honeymoon choices. Also, if the misses were feeling adventurous, I would love to explore the other South Pacific islands like the Cook Islands and American Samoa.
SWITZERLAND
I different approach from the sand and sun of the previous 3, Switzerland would be a beautiful honeymoon destination for it’s cozy lodges, big ski resorts and warm fondue! I could picture snuggling up next to the fire with my new wifey and some hot cocoa while talking about the day’s snow conditions and how we can’t wait to jump in the Jacuzzi.
